I heard the tail end of a song the other day and I was completely intrigued. I knew from what little I heard, I wanted to hear all of it.
Well, it came on last night as J and I were driving and I turned it up so we both could listen.
It's hilarious.
The whole song is pretty funny, in my humble opinion. It's sung by Brad Paisley. I think if I were inclined to be a fan of any type, I'd be a fan of his. I pretty much like anything he's done.
On particular line has had us laughing since we heard it. See if you can guess which.
I'm Still A Guy
When you see a deer you see Bambi
And I see antlers up on the wall
When you see a lake you think picnics
And I see a large mouth up under that log
You're probably thinking that you're going to change me
In some ways well maybe you might
Scrub me down, dress me up oh but no matter what
remember I'm still a guy
When you see a priceless French painting
I see a drunk, naked girl
You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy
And I'd like to give it a whirl
Well love makes a man do some things he ain't proud of
And in a weak moment I might walk your sissy dog,
hold your purse at the mall
But remember, I'm still a guy
I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by
I can hear you now talking to your friends
Saying, "Yeah girls he's come a long way
"From dragging his knuckles and carrying a club
And building a fire in a cave
But when you say a backrub means only a backrub
Then you swat my hand when I try
Well, now what can I say at the end of the day
Honey, I'm still a guy
These days there's dudes getting facials
Manicured, waxed and botoxed
With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotiony hands
You can't grip a tacklebox
Yeah with all of these men lining up to get neutered
It's hip now to be feminized
I don't highlight my hair
I've still got a pair
Yeah honey, I'm still a guy

The whole thing is funny... is it "I've still got a pair"?
HILARIOUS!! i love that song. i love the stuff he writes!
I love this song, and Brad Paisly does it for me....I wonder if it's the copped a feel line, cause that one had me rolling. Who cops a feel while walking by some one, and why has it never happened to me???!!!
Not a fan of country music, but I'm going with first stanza, fourth phrase. That's what I would laugh about.
I haven't heard that song, but I LOVE him. His songs are hilarious! "I'm gonna miss her" and "Cooler Online" are two of my faves. I liked the "I've still got a pair" and the "Drunk, naked girl" lines
Shoot. I have got to listen to this one out loud now...
But to guess...
the sissy dog?
dudes getting facials?
i've still got a pair?
P.S. Every time I think of country music I think of you belting "We should be kissin'"... You definitely like some classics.
I am not a country fan, but that is a great song!
Okay, so far, the exact part that made me laugh through out the day, hasn't been guessed.
However, Beckie, you did make me laugh out loud with "and why has it never happened to me!?" You funny girl!
Glittersmama, I'm gonna need you to stop flaunting your college degree on my blog with all the "phrase" and "stanza" talk and whatnot. It's a country song for pete's sake. A little, "that thar part was rull funny" will do!
My mom guessed the right part, but she doesn't comment publicly, she just emailed it. :)
Dangit. I don't know about all that English class crap. I was actually hoping to not sound like an idiot. Was I still wrong?
Everyone's guessed the ones that I was thinking of, so here's a completely random guess:
'But when you say a backrub means only a backrub
Then you swat my hand when I try'
Maybe I'll go e-mail grandma and persuade her to tell me :-)...
it's gotta be the backrub line... that's the one I laughed at the most because it is oh, so terribly true! I haven't heard that song, but the lyrics are totally hilarious. I'm gonna listen for it!
I think this is the theme song of every guy from my hometown!
Ok, now I'm in search for it. Don't be surprised if you suddenly hear it on my blog, I'm a country fan and proud of it! Especially Brad Paisley!
i just heard that the other day and loved it. it helped me understand my husband better. ha ha
country music always does it for me. can't live without it
