It's Just a Joke

I was sitting at the computer with my back to the kids when I heard J say,
"Hey Avee, why so serious?"

I whip around to see her face (earlier this morning she was sobbing because she heard me say I loved J and I forget that in her mind, loving her and loving J are mutually exclusive). To be honest, I was shocked to "hear" J noting a female emotion that hadn't been verbally expressed. Loudly.
He hadn't. He was just quoting his favorite movie. Aptly though, dontcha think?

p.s. Mom, J was quoting the Joker in the most recent Batman Movie. Even though it's J's favorite movie, you should not see it.

I totally miss you. Where have you been? Or maybe it's where have I been?

I wouldn't have gotten the quote, so I'm glad your momma wouldn't either... now I don't feel so silly. :)

And I totally love that girl. One day, when I meet her person, I swear it's going to be like meeting a celebrity. Don't tell her I said that though... it might make our meeting awkward.

Wow, I'm number 2!?! That's like being number one to get a comment that early for Nobody! :)

That last pouty picture made me LOL! Avee has so much personality. You should frame it!!! :D

She really thinks that if you say I love you to your husband, that you cant love her?
How funny! Not for her though..

Anonymous: Did you read this? Nobo loves her husband instead of her kids!! Let her have it! Just let me proofread it first.

Nobo: I got the quote, but that may be mostly because I just saw the movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

I didn't get the quote . . . until I saw the pictures. Totally hilarious.

That is definitely a serious shade (and quantity) of lipstick. And hilarious, even though I will join Mom in abstaining from the latest Batman. :)

Good movie, cute kid, but Nobody is cool.

So basically all that stuff they tell us about how the most important gift you can give your children is a strong and loving marriage is just crap, huh?

Avee, darling we need to discuss your makeup choices. I want to see you in pink dear, pink.

Did I tell you about the time Cletus got ahold of my "stays-on" lipstick when he was 18 months old? And put it on his eye? and I spent the next three days explaining fervently to other moms, teachers and strangers that it was NOT pinkeye, it was LIPSTICK! Lipstick!

They still didn't let him in church nursery.

Avee needed some lip liner to help keep it from running outside the lines :D

Loving J ≠ Loving Avee? How absurd! How could you not love them both?

Yeah, yeah, explain that to Avee, right?

She is so cute.

And here I thought I was going to get advice on making men understand nonverbalized female emotions. Instead I find out that people abstain from watching a movie we took our 11 year old too. Turns out she can verbalize the emotion "that was awesome!" just fine.

at least j didn't ask her if she could make a pencil disappear. :)

So cute! Only Sessa has done that at our house. We were laughing so hard that she got mad at us!
Nice line, J!

We almost dressed Livie up as the Joked for Halloween. She has the hair.

Avee cracks me up.
